Gate

Gate

This poem is about despair and delusions.

I am completely lost.
Driven and drown
into my own delusion.
A word from beyond
won’t reach me now.

I failed you, I failed myself.
There is no return, no salvation
I am fast asleep, forgotten
trapped in an abyss, powerless
surrounded by whispers of awakening

Where art thou Buddha?
How to redeem that which is left behind?
Forget it, forget yourself. Be free.
Do not look back, no, never.
That which is scary is only a veil.

Why should I even bother?
It is not ‘I’ that needs to bother.
This thing comes without effort.
Just trust it and you’ll see.
The gate to nowhere.
