Self

Self

This poem is about selfishness.

The epitome of selfishness
It is only me which experiences
This existence so demanding
Thinking of others is only cheating

The world can burn for all I care
Attending to society I do not dare
Get away! Just let me be
The phantom I made, it does not see

Give me everything right now
To anyone I do not bow
Lost in fear, day in, day out
Its corridors hidden in denial and doubt

The only love is self-love
The guilt which keeps me above
With a pin it bores through the wall
And sets my relationship to fall
